Yes it was confusion to some. Is it a house tour? Is it an art show? And the answer is yes to both.
FUSE invited regional, mostly well established artists to create installations to accommodate vacant buildings and storefronts in Old Allentown as part of this year’s House Tour. SPACES consisted of art installations in five venues, one of which was a nine room Victorian with installations by individual artists in each room, in addition there was a large warehouse and 3 storefronts – all were fitted with site specific installations highlighting the space. The work challenged, like this year’s house tour to embrace ideas and to nurture potential and possibilities.
FUSE art infrastructure is proud to have been part of Old Allentown House Tour 2012. We hope to continue to promote progressive and innovative thinking in art and for our city as a whole.
